To make your own, you will need:
- Canvas tote bag
- Fabric paint
- Paint brush
- Scissors
- Pencil
- Computer/printer
Cut the ampersand out.
Trace it onto your tote bag.
Kind of hard to see, but you want a light pencil outline |
Use your fabric paint to outline and fill in the ampersand. I used a navy color that I had left from my shoe project (I've also used it on my monogrammed hat and stamped makeup pouch. This paint has some serious mileage!).
Let it dry, then fill it up with books! Or, whatever else you need to tote :)
Totally doable!
How cool is that? I'm in awe of your talent. You make things look so simple and easy to do. I'm going to try this with a shirt ;)

This is perfection! Only yesterday, I've been researching ampersand bookends for my new home office space, and I've been thinking about getting an ampersand throw pillow as well. And now this. I can see a lot of ampersands in my near future :)

You could diy a throw pillow! I think it's just such a perfect design for a writer/book lover :)
DeleteWhere did you get the tote from?!
ReplyDeleteOh geez, it's super old! I have no idea where it came from!
