August Book Club

Last month, I read Brideshead Revisted.  It was a good book... but I didn't love it.  I think I'm kind of tired of the war story/someone leaves their spouse for someone else story line...

Up this month is The Almond Tree, by Michelle Cohen Corasanti.  This book was one that I won in a Goodreads giveaway!  If you haven't heard of Goodreads, I seriously recommend you check them out (and look me up so we can see what books we like!).  You put in a list of books you have read, books you want to read, books you are currently reading, and you can even make your own "shelves" for books.  You can connect with friends and read reviews, and Goodreads gives really great recommendations.  They have recommendations based on what you have already read, but they also will give you recommendations based on genre or even the list of books you want to read!  It's great.
Am I crazy, or does the guy on the right look like Ryan Gosling?

What are you reading this month?

  5. Okay, I'm doing what I normally hate to do - reading 2 books at once. I usually hate to do that because I like to stay in one story before I start another. I'm reading The Sunne in Splendour (been reading that one for months!!) It's really long and I just don't have a lot of time during the day. But I'm over halfway done with it, so I'm making progress. Then at night, right before I go to sleep, I've been re-reading the Harry Potter series. Those are just so fun!

    1. Oh, I hate doing that too! But rereading favorites sounds like a good way to go :). Let me know how you like the other book when you're finished!
