May Book Club

We had our monthly book club meeting last week, and it was so nice to catch up!  For the month of May, we're going to go see The Great Gatsby.  I'm so excited to see this newest take on one of my favorite books!

For myself, I'm going to be reading Hiding in the Open, by Sabina Zimering.  It's a memoir by a Holocaust survivor who now lives here in the Twin Cities.  A while back, I was substitute teaching at a school where they honored her as a woman of substance.  She said a few words that day, and seemed like an inspiring person!  I can't wait to read what promises to be a moving and amazing story.

What are you reading this month?

  1. This sounds like a great read! I'm going to put it on my list :) I've just finished reading The Prague winter by Madeleine Albrigh: it's a wonderfully written history of former Czechoslovakia (the country where I was born before it split in two), the world war 2 and the holocaust. It was a breathtaking read! And right now, I'm reading The Great Gatsby: getting ready to see the movie :)

  3. I wish I had a little more free time, so I could dedicate it to reading... I want to re-read "Master and Margarita" by Bulgakov. I have read it in Russian version, now I want to read it in English.
I actually read movie review. Supposedly, it is very moving.. Now I want to do both: read the book and watch the movie:-)
