John and I have been taking lots of walks lately. And since there has been a lot of rain, we have seen a lot of mushrooms on our walks. This gave me an idea for another art project: spore prints. Mushrooms have spores lodged in their gills, and if they are placed gill side down on a piece of paper, the spores will work their way onto the paper and leave a pattern. So I decided to layer different spore prints on top of each other to see if I could make some interesting prints.
What is really cool is all the different colors of spores. Some look brown, other white or black or even greenish. I think I have a ways to go before perfecting the art of spore prints, but they're sure fun to make!
Very cool!
